Anger. This is something we all have within our scope of emotion. Anger is tricky because too much of it can bleed poison into our life and too little of it can scream passive and unpassionate to the world. What does anger do for you? Does it motivate you? Does it hold you back ? Do you think we need anger ?
Anger is something that I had wired into me young watching my very angry biological father react to life. After college I worked many years of social work and have many years of knowledge on human behavior especially beginning in childhood, but it has taken me being a parent myself to really connect all of that knowledge and understand that children are mirroring us.
I watched anger as a child so I mirrored anger in my life. It wasn’t directed at any particular person per say but my natural response to any kind of surprising stimuli like someone cutting me off in traffic, or stubbing my toe, or even just spilling something etc., became an auto angry response. Only after I started to do self work and dig within myself and throw out all the things I had learned and absorbed from infanthood to adulthood that did not serve the spirit that is housed inside of me did this anger auto response fade.
I practice self work/love everyday. The more self work I do the lighter I feel in life and I also do not auto respond in anger like before. It’s still there, we have this emotion for a reason. It just does not sit at the forefront of my reactions to life anymore. At times anger fuels my motivations but only controlled anger. An example of controlled anger is someone saying you can’t do something and you taking the anger from that to focus in on proving them wrong. All the while not letting the anger pour over into your morals or how you treat these critics because remember how you treat people says everything about you and nothing about them and vice versa.
I challenge you to face your anger. Where is it stemming from? I challenge you to transform your anger into something beautiful for your life just like The Magical Mermaid and the Moon do in this unique fairytale.
